Comal County Habitat for Humanity has been building affordable houses for low-income families since 1993. We are an established non-profit in our community that pursues numerous endeavors and projects in order to develop Comal County to its fullest potential. Comal County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Marketing Intern who will work together with staff and other interns in our office. The internship requires approximately 6 hours a week. This is an opportunity to engage with our volunteers, donors and families with a hands-on role in a fun environment, working toward our mission of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Please note, this is an unpaid internship.

Responsibilities

• Support Community Engagement Director in all marketing efforts
• Develop marketing strategy to reach target audience
• Oversee and contribute to the design of the marketing material (newspaper ads, flyers, invitations,
• etc.)
• Contact the media about our events (Public Service Announcements, Press Releases, etc.)
• Gain real-world experience publishing and sending out marketing material
• Participate in the design of marketing campaigns
• Co-manage social media and website

Requirements

• Previous experience in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations
• Ability to work independently after given a set of tasks
• Design experience
• Sel-motivated
• Well-written and creative
• Passionate about nonprofits
• Suggested majors: Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Mass Communications
